about

Leading the vanguard, To The Brim is the first single taken from Mac's forthcoming Melancholic Soul Club EP, and it is bound to leave an impression.

Melancholic Soul Club contains a host of tracks perfected over the past three years, and To The Brim is no exception. The EPs first stand-alone offering explores the all too familiar issues of mental health that have plagued Mac's personal life, some of which continue to do so to this day.

Still riddled with depression and anxiety, To the Brim tells the story of a man unable to shake the negativity and pessimism that can follow a traumatic event. Even once the smoke has cleared, the single showcases Mac's inability to see clearly, no matter how hard he tries.

lyrics

I swear this stress'll be the death of me
So much on my plate it gets the best of me
Filled up to the brim with this anxiety
I pray that my head will clear eventually

But I don't believe
No, I don't believe

Cry for my mother because she's drunk again
Hoping that she puts herself first in the end
The letter that I wrote flowed from me until
all I was left with was an empty pen

My friends say i've got my shit together
But i'm just hanging by a thread
Nearing the end of my tether
Failing to keep a level head

My father says the world is at my feet
If only I could open up my eyes and see
See all the good that is inside of me
But my pessimism keeps on blinding me

I see my loved ones struggling everyday
It breaks my heart and I can't bear the weight
If I could rid them of their sorrow
then i'd do it in a heartbeat
So they could live better day to day

I swear this stress'll be the death of me
So much on my plate it gets the best of me
Filled up to the brim with this anxiety
I pray that my head will clear eventually

But I don't believe
No, I don't believe
